The trees definitely play a big role in landscape considering that it is the basic foundation of landscape right after the house has been built. There are definitely a lot of trees which can be used in landscaping, for instance, the fruit bearing trees which are used because of their crops. Some examples of the fruit bearing trees which can be used in landscaping are the apple trees, apricot trees, citrus trees, pear trees, peach trees, plum trees and pawpaw trees. But unfortunately, a lot of people have been refusing to use fruit bearing trees in landscaping since they thought that it is messy to deal with, however, it will only get messy if you do not take care of its fruit well. Fruit bearing trees are indeed excellent to use in landscaping since these trees are also the edible type of landscape.
Some less commonly known but very wonderful landscape fruit bearing trees include crabapples (they make the best jams and jellies!), hackberry (jams and jellies), and persimmon (can be used for anything and are absolutely delicious). These fruit bearing trees are not only beneficial due to the fruit that it bears but also to its beautiful form. Apart from the beautiful form that the hackberry and crabapple trees possess are also their glorious colors. While the persimmon tree has been known to hold their fruit well, thus, its structure looks very ornamental.
Nut bearing trees are also good landscape candidates where a large and stately tree is needed. Black walnut may come to mind but this would be the only exception in the landscape as they produce a very potent toxin that kills many species of plants within their root zone and beyond. Another tree which is very advisable for landscaping is the butternut tree. The butternut tree is definitely the perfect alternative for the black walnut since its structure looks exactly the same, however, its root system does not produce toxins. The nuts that are being produced by the butternut tree also happens to be very delicious. In fact, there are now more disease resistant nuts which you can easily buy. Hazelnut tree is also advisable in landscaping since it blooms beautifully during fall season when other plants to not bloom.
